Fractals are a powerful and memory saving approach
to model complex three dimensional objects.
With the short description of a fractal it
is possible to generate a geometric structure of
an arbitrary amount of detail,that could hardly
be described with an enumerative approach. To
make fractals a useful modeling tool,it is necessary
to use a exible,parameter controlled class
of fractals,whic h makes it possible to have suf-
cient control over the outcome. Since nonlinear
transformations have been proven to be intuitive
and convenient aids in the modeling process,it is
our goal to develop a modeling tool that combines
the advantages of nonlinear transformations and
fractal modeling.
One observation that can be made when studying
natural phenomena like plants is the highly complex
structure and the strong degree of nonlinearity
of the geometry. For the modeling of natural
phenomena procedural modeling techniques are
the most adequate and produced the best results
up until now. Therefore we want to use the nonlinear
CSG-pL-Systems for the modeling of plants.
In order to get a high quality picture the objects
will be rendered with ray tracing.
